Programming, Events and Video Schedule: Programming Schedule/Grid on the Quick Guide
This year, Anime Detour will run five panels on topics that have been selected by Programming Staff. The panels will be made up of people with a variety of experience to allow those topics to be explored from various perspectives, and each panel will be moderated. The topics for 2018’s Moderated Panels will be Adaptations and Origins, Second Chances in Anime, Heroine’s Journey in Anime, Memorable Settings, Cultural Representations in Anime. If you are interested in being a panelist or moderator for these panels, please review the links below:Full Descriptions for the Five Moderated Panels
Fan-fiction Contest: Show off your fanfic prowess by participating in our annual contest! Prizes will be awarded at a special panel. The first-place story will be read aloud after all the winners are announced. More Info

When can I see the complete schedule of events for the convention?
The finalized schedule will be available on the site 3-4 weeks prior to the convention.
Can my panel be at a specific day/time?
No. However, if you will not be at the convention until a particular time or are otherwise committed, we may be able to make an exception. (e.g. You're flying in from out of town and won't be at the convention until late Friday night, or you're participating in the Cosplay contest, etc.) Please be sure to include this information when you submit your panel request if this is the case.
Can my panel be longer than an hour?
No. To ensure that everyone who wants to run a panel is able to, panels should be kept to a one hour time limit.
Can I run a panel only for ages 18+?
Yes! However, Anime Detour strives to maintain a family-friendly, PG-13 rated (at most) convention. If the panel you are proposing is specifically about adult material, it may warrant an 18+ rating. The Programming department will have the ultimate say in assigning an 18+ rating. If you are not assigned an 18+ rating, the content of your panel will need to be adjusted accordingly.
Can I use multimedia in my panel?
You bet! If you have a laptop of your own and would like to use a projector, speakers, DVD player, etc. to show a PowerPoint presentation, videos, or other multimedia, please be sure to include this in your panel submission form so our staff can make accommodations. If your panel can function just as well without a projector or sound system though, we encourage you to do so. We have a limited number of technical resources available.
Can I borrow a laptop for my panel?
Anime Detour cannot provide laptops for panelists.
When will I know what time my panel is scheduled?
You will be sent an email notification as soon as the schedule is finalized. This typically occurs 3-4 weeks prior to the convention.
Is my panel likely to be cancelled?
No. We make every effort to include all panel submissions from our attendees and rarely make cuts. If your panel is at any risk of being cut, Programming staff will be in touch with you.
How can I add a new panelist to the panel I already requested?
