LETTER TO PARENTS
LETTER TO PARENTS
This parents' guide is to give you an understanding about Anime Detour and
how we function as a convention. If you have any questions or comments,
please feel free to e-mail General Information.

Convention Hours
Start: 12:00PM Friday April 1, 2011 Ends: 6:00PM Sunday April 3, 2011
Some events will run 24 hours, such as the video rooms. Other events, such as
Registration and the Dealer's Room, operate for a certain amount of time during
the day. We will be posting a schedule of times for our popular events on our
web site when they become available and in the program book at the convention.
Attendance and Registration
Anime Detour welcomes people of all ages. We encourage parental supervision for
younger attendees. We do not offer any family registration packages, so our suggestion
is to register early! Please see our registration page for more information.
At the convention, families should have a plan in place for regrouping should any member
become separated. All attendees are encouraged to have the utmost of respect toward other
convention attendees. If anyone is causing trouble, please tell the staff so we may take care
of the situation right away.
Disclaimer of Convention Content
Anime Detour is open to people of all ages. However, some of our events are
not specifically geared toward children. For example, some of the animated titles
presented will contain mature situations and may be considered too violent or offensive
for younger viewers. Some late night programming may contain adult themed titles, and
minors are not suppose to be in that specific room at that time. Our retailers
in the dealer's room are not allowed to sell inappropriate material to minors. In fact,
they are required to card people for identification in those cases. Retailers are
bound by law not to sell these inappropriate materials to minors. Therefore, if you see
a situation contradicting the above, please notify the Dealer's Room staff at the
Anime Detour Merchandise table. With the help of parents and our friendly attendees,
we wish to promote a fun atmosphere where people may share their interests in Anime.
Disclaimer of Behavior
Most people come to have a good time. We are especially privileged to have a
community of fans that are generally respectful of each other. However, there are rare
cases when an attendee shows extremely bad judgment, or causes undue stress on the staff.
In these cases, we reserve the right to revoke the attendee's convention badge. Therefore,
please understand it is the responsibility of the guardian adult (18+) to watch over
each and every child they bring. For the most part, this is relatively rare issue. Please
help us with the respectful and fun atmosphere.
The Informed Guardian/Parent
If you have questions about the appropriateness of a program event for your children,
then please feel free to talk with our staff. You may also contact us by e-mail ahead of time.
We are all fans of the medium and can help you make an informed decision.
Anime Detour encourages parents to be informed regarding what their children are
watching, reading, and attending.
Thank you for your interest in our convention!
Sincerely,
Anime Detour Convention Committee
